Why I Created ‘Art As Amor’: A Brand Built on Purpose and Pain

Growing up between two worlds New York and the Dominican Republic. I experienced profound loss early in life. My mother died when I was just a year old. By the age of 10, I had lost my grandmother, my father, and the sense of family stability many children take for granted. I found myself holding onto anything that brought comfort. That thing was art.

From Personal Pain to Collective Healing

Art As Amor isn’t just a brand, it’s a movement. It’s for the kids growing up without support. It’s for the mothers who carry invisible scars. It’s for the elders whose stories have faded into silence. And it’s for the dreamers who are tired of being told they’re “too much” or “not enough.”

By blending cultural storytelling, emotional expression, and immersive costume art, Art As Amorcreates healing spaces that remind people: you are not alone, and your story matters.

Whether it’s through workshops with seniors, interactive family events, or coloring books filled with soulful reflection, everything we create carries one message: your pain has a place to become beauty.

Why “Amor”?

Love is the core of everything I do.

Not perfection.

Not popularity.

Not performance. Love.

For my ancestors. For my children. For my younger self. For every person who ever felt like they had to hide their truth to survive. That’s the kind of legacy I want to leave behind—and invite others to be part of.
